This includes:
- Assistance with social and civic engagement
- Organization of the supporters
- Improved quality of life
- Enhanced connections
Life Skills Development Under NDIS
Here at ECD Service, our NDIS life skills development program aims to support participants in building their independence and confidence to live a more independent life. We are focused on teaching practical skills that are important in everyday life; skills such as looking after personal hygiene, budgeting, cooking and organisation that will help you to take more control over your own life. Our intention is rather to help participants construct as much competence, confidence, and independence as they can in as many ways that are meaningful to them.
Daily Living Training & Independent Skills Support
Every individual learns in unique ways, and that is why our day-to-day life training is adaptive and personalised. We provide you with a collaborative learning experience as we help practice routines, deconstruct complex tasks and make progress at your own pace to mastery. With our skills, independent support, you will receive individual coaching in areas like decision making, problem solving, social skills and dealing with day-to-day responsibilities. The point is not to do things for you but to teach you how to do things for yourself – successfully and independently.
Disability Learning Programs & Personal Growth
Learning never stops, and for many participants, disability learning programs are structured ways of getting better personally. Through specific modules as well as one-to-one mentoring, we enable participants to extend their skills, set themselves targets and chart their progress. The personal growth aspect of NDIS that we also focus on includes emotional resilience, self-awareness, and goal setting, which are all part of what makes life skills truly meaningful. Our aim is that these learning experiences extend into your everyday life, making you stronger, more capable and more connected too.
